Sunday Dinner on a budget

A few people have reached out to me to ask how I manage to make my roast dinners for so little money. So, I am going to base prices for the recipe on today’s prices at Tesco (that is where I shop). The biggest cost with those who want to save money is when theyContinue reading “Sunday Dinner on a budget”

Week I don’t know!

Hello! Hi! It has been quite a while since I updated the blog. I have been posting on my Instagram pretty much daily but I had my third year Uni placement to complete and with Covid that ended up being more complicated that usual. However, I passed with flying colours, I have submitted all ofContinue reading “Week I don’t know!”

Week 10 and monthly savings update!

This week just sort of disappeared! I fully intended to write a few posts during the week but, it seems that I missed the boat on that one! oops! Well I would like to say the week was super productive but it wasn’t! I visited B&M twice (for stuff I needed!), collected my order fromContinue reading “Week 10 and monthly savings update!”

Week 8 update: Saving not spending

Yes, I am a day late but yesterday was Mother’s Day in the UK and we were allowed to spend time together in the garden (2 households, 4 adults). I received some lovely gifts from my own children and then I made afternoon tea for my mum and we could have a catch up inContinue reading “Week 8 update: Saving not spending”

On the road to being debt free. Debt and how to tackle it…

Head on is the answer! Burying your head in the sand, binning letters and ignoring phone calls will not help. The letters will still arrive, the phone will still ring, and the debt is probably increasing. I’ve been there. I got out a long time ago but that didn’t mean we still didn’t have debt.Continue reading “On the road to being debt free. Debt and how to tackle it…”

Week 7: Gousto, offers, more food & a confession!

Another Sunday, another post. The last week has been a good week. We’ve enjoyed bike rides, park trips, outdoor movies and as a bonus…there’s only one more week left of home learning! I cannot wait to get back in to a routine. My first botanical babe A&E plant sub box arrived. I bought this offContinue reading “Week 7: Gousto, offers, more food & a confession!”

Week 6 update and monthly savings total!

I haven’t posted much this week. I’ve been super busy with Uni work and general life (both children are still at home!). We’ve still been cooking though and spending lots of time together. The weather was good this weekend so we even managed to sort out the garden after winter killed off all the plants.Continue reading “Week 6 update and monthly savings total!”

Week 5 update: Always about the food!

This week was a successful one. We didn’t spend any extra money. In fact, I made some money by selling off bits we don’t use or need through Facebook and Ebay. We made £40.69 so added that to our savings! Nice little bonus. Next week will be the week we update our monthly savings totalContinue reading “Week 5 update: Always about the food!”

Kids activities on a budget

Part of our monthly budget is on entertainment. It is a small budget but what lockdown 1 & 2 have shown us is that we don’t need a lot of money to have fun! We’re quite lucky in the sense that my children enjoy spending time with us and couldn’t really care less about expensiveContinue reading “Kids activities on a budget”

Week 4 update! Another Sunday, another savings update!

One month down! I don’t know what happened but, this month and week just disappeared! We didn’t do anything overly special but that’s lockdown life 🤷‍♀️ This weekend my friend Sarah from sarahwithersblogs came to stay (she is in our extended household). We played some online quiz games. Ate plenty food & had some gin!Continue reading “Week 4 update! Another Sunday, another savings update!”
