One month down! I don’t know what happened but, this month and week just disappeared! We didn’t do anything overly special but that’s lockdown life 🤷♀️
This weekend my friend Sarah from sarahwithersblogs came to stay (she is in our extended household). We played some online quiz games. Ate plenty food & had some gin! It was good to see other people in person! I was also gifted a couple of other birthday gifts which were lovely including Chrissy Teigen’s cook book, Cravings which I am really looking forward to using!! Also some amazingly scented wax melts along with a few things that i could eat! Clearly knows the way to my heart 🥰 For all bookish things go and give her a follow!

Another friend, the beautiful Panna over at the_glamguide on Instagram gifted me a much coveted eye shadow palette which meant I didn’t have to buy it from my birthday money 😍 If you like skincare & beauty then go and give her a follow!

We both are fans of Poppy cooks and wanted to make her fondant potatoes. This meant that Sunday dinner consisted of marmalade and honey gammon, fondant potatoes & veg. The potatoes were so tasty that I also ate my sons portion 😆 Next time I will add more garlic though and a little more salt. For a first attempt though they were really nice.

Sunday dinner cost £9.16 in total and fed 5 people plus a portion of vegetables for the dog. This meant it was only £1.83 per portion. As mentioned previously I buy meat etc in bulk so we also have half of the Gammon left which I will use up for lunches and snacks during the week. I am hoping to make some hash browns with gammon and eggs for brunch tomorrow!
The oldest child baked some Rolo brownies on Friday night which super tasty! We have baked a lot this week. As well as the Rolo brownies we have baked kinder Bueno cookie slices & Mars bar krispies. They all went down well as an afternoon snack.

As mentioned in a previous post, I decided to put my birthday money into our savings pot. As well as this we also added some of our own money. We did spend £4.95 on some pakora because I’ve been craving them for weeks. They were terrible. Greasy, tasteless and not worth the money. Won’t be doing that again! I also purchased some acrylic storage for my makeup. We had Amazon vouchers so I only paid £5 towards this. During lockdown 1 I was studying, watching live lectures etc from anywhere there was space in the house. However, this time around I needed to find a more permanent solution. I had to get rid of my dressing table and turn it in to a desk. That meant finding something to put all my make up and skincare in. However, it does take our unnecessary spend to £9.95 this week🥲.

This week we have saved a phenomenal total of £310.79 . This brings our total savings to £517.20 which means we are 17.2 % of the way towards our goal!
